“Forget Me Not” is a series of pieces that represents the connections we have with all people. From mother to daughter, boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife, between friends, between coworkers, and from time to time even strangers. It portrays and encompasses all angles of the experiences we have and the human connections we make, the good and the bad, the black, white, and grey areas of it all. It could be as simple as a word or a gesture, or as complex as an ideology that surrounds us within the connections we have and make throughout our lives. We are all human, we all feel love, we all feel pain, and exploring that through art and bringing a spotlight onto this hidden area is what drives me, and is what inspires me to continue to explore this curiosity and wonderment about who we are and how we are. Sometimes what we experience is flight, sometimes we soar, in happiness, in love. Sometimes we fail, we fall, get tripped up, beat up, and bruised. Yet, we always come out the other end with experiences, experiences within ourselves. At moments these are set free, by something we hear, see, smell, taste, or by something we feel. This is our hearts responding, reaching out to a memory, the good and the bad, our hearts recognize the connection and thus we stop for a moment to feel it.
